Publisher Questions

How do I embed the Heyzap player?


Copy the embed code then paste it between the and tags within your site code or copy and paste this code into the template for your website.

Why should I embed Heyzap?


Having 12,000 games on your site will increase the user time on site and user traffic. To make things easier for you, the Heyzap player will update with new games automatically. So its zero hassle to get super fresh, addictive and highly engaging content on your site!

I‘ve embedded the player, how come it doesn’t work?


Make sure you have embed the complete code and not missed a part by only partially selecting the code. Also make sure that your site supports javascript. If you still have problems please leave feedback.

Can the Heyzap player have games without ads?


We are currently working on licensing options.

Can I customize the Heyzap player?


At the moment you can select between 2 sizes of widget. One for blogs and one for your site. We plan to bring out more customization options shortly.

What revenue share can I expect?


Publishers get a 15% share of all in-game transactions that occur on their site. This is paid on a Net 30 basis.

Which payment methods do you support?


We support both PayPal and Moneybookers for secure revenue payment to publishers.

Do you provide a PHP parser for your JSON/XML feeds?


No, we do not provide our own PHP parser. We recommend using the json_decode function that is built into PHP as the best way to parse our feeds. Have a look at the official PHP documentation to find out more: http://php.net/manual/en/function.json-decode.php

I want to add Heyzap games to my site, but I don't know where to start!

How do I add Heyzap games to my Webs.com website?


If your site is a Webs.com site, then the option to add a Heyzap Arcade is available through the Applications menu.

If your site is not a Webs.com site, you may choose any of the wide range of publisher integration options available on the Heyzap website. Check them out!

Why do viral loops in Heyzap games point back to Facebook instead of my site?


Heyzap games redirect Facebook viral loops back to the publisher's site. However, the games need extra information in order to know what site they are on.

If you want Heyzap games to point viral traffic back to your site you must use an embed code. To get an embed code for your games go to your publisher dashboard. Beneath the name of the site that you want to get games for, click "Embed Code". Then copy and paste the text in the Embed Code column to your webpage.

Will Heyzap sell my personal information?


No. Heyzap does not sell your personal information.

Why am I not seeing any revenue show in my publisher dashboard?


Heyzap helps publishers monetize their users with two revenue share options - virtual goods and advertising. In order for you to receive virtual goods revenue, your users must buy something in the game on your site. Advertising revenue depends upon many factors, including where your visitors are from (e.g. US traffic provides a higher CPM rate than, say, Indian traffic).

Can I resize Heyzap games on my site?


Heyzap recommends that you keep the original sizing of games that we supply. Most games do not scale well and are designed to be run at their original size.

If you still wish to resize Heyzap games you may do so by editing every occurrence of "width" and "height" in the embed code that is supplied. This will allow you to set arbitrary sizing for your games.

Where do you get your games from?


Heyzap aggregates games from all over the Internet and also allows developers to directly upload their games to the Heyzap platform.

Can I get an API?

How can I add / upload games to Heyzap?

What does the game developer get out of adding games to Heyzap?


Immediately, Heyzap can distribute your game over our 120,000 partner websites. If you choose to implement our API in your game you get microtransaction support, in-game ad revenue and tight viral loop integration.

How long will it take for my game to be approved?


We will get your games into the Heyzap player as soon as we can. We are currently working through the backlog, bear with us! :>

What are the approval requirements?


Please make sure you have filled all the fields when you submit a game, empty field could delay the process of game submission. The approval requirements at the moment are simple - the new submitted games will be under the new category and the users of the Heyzap player will decide whether they like it based on playtime.

Can I upload non flash games?


Unfortunately not yet. If you're interested in doing so though, shoot us an email. We may be able to hook something up.

What revenue share can I expect?


Heyzap give the site publisher 15% of every in-game purchase. The developer receives 70% of the remaining revenue.

Do you have restrictions on what flash content you accept?


Heyzap does not distribute games with overtly sexual or offensive themes. In particular, Heyzap does not distribute games containing nudity. In general, most other content is acceptable.

Can you give me examples of games that use the Heyzap API?

Can anyone use the Heyzap APIs or is there an approval process for a game to go through?


You can start using the API immediately - there is no approval process. We do have to see your game before it is featured on Heyzap.com, but that is only to ensure that it is acceptable content, and that it works.

What Heyzap branding is created in a game from use of the APIs?


A few places will say "Powered by Heyzap", but we have limited branding.

Is it possible to pull a person's Facebook profile picture, and other details into a game using the Heyzap API?


Yes, the Social API provides this.

Will Heyzap sell my personal information?


No. Heyzap does not sell any of your personal information.
