Just noticed that a lot of the heyZap features are being phased out.
Is that something I should be worried about since some of my games are using those features?
Thanks, Fridrik Magnusson, IceGamer.net

Hi Icegamer,
We are going through a complete redesign of our Game developer tools. Our current focus is around Social, MMO games that have virtual currencies and want to distribute their games across the Internet with us.
This has meant that we have decreased our focus on Leaderboards, Achievements and some of our other casual tools. We have no plans of deprecating them for existing games but would not advice any new games to use the old tools.
Cheers
I noticed that we can no longer set up individual items for purchase in the new API and "showItem" is no longer supported. Is this change permanent? If not, how long until it is restored? I can imagine such a fundamental change alienating many of your users (us included).
Sorry for the double post, but under this new system will you provide a way to query how many coins (or whatever the currency of choice is) the user currently has?
calculatorgames,
To reply to your first post, the showItem API call is still supported as a legacy system. If you have created games in the past that used the old Heyzap Inventory Management system there will be an option to view the legacy systems within the new dashboard.
However, we are discontinuing the Heyzap Inventory Management system for new game developers.
To address your second post, the new system doesn't use Heyzap Coins - it uses the game developer's currency. In this way the new Heyzap API will not provide a way to query how many coins the user currently has.
